Serious Case Review Training Update

Serious Case Review learning is usually disseminated in a number of ways:
- Serious Case Review newsletter which includes local and national lessons
- Specific staff briefings
- Multi-agency learning lessons events
- Training on BSCB annual training plan on 'Serious Case Reviews and the lessons to be       learned'

However guidance on the completion of SCR's post July 2012 is still awaited from the Department for Education which means that the above course is not currently on the training plan. The course will be revised when the new guidance becomes available and will then be advertised and updated on the website. There will also be briefing sessions provided to update all our partner agencies on the new approach to conducting Serious Case Reviews.

In the event of a Serious Case Review occurring before this date, specific training will be provided to those staff involved.

When the BSCB undertakes a Local Lessons Learned review of a case that does not meet the criteria for a Serious Case Review then the lessons from this review will be disseminated through partner agencies and where appropriate with specific learning events.
