"A bully is a person who can't get their head round a difference." – A disabled young person

The conference highlights the experiences of deaf and disabled young people, and
empowers the professionals who work with them to tackle bullying.

Bradford Safeguarding Children Board and the NSPCC are joining forces to highlight the extent of bullying among disabled young people. The joint campaign will be launched by newly appointed BSCB chair Nick Frost at the conference.

The conference will:
  • help professionals to understand the issues of bullying linked to disability, and provide them with tools to tackle it
  • give young people, their parents, carers and teachers the chance to share their experience of bullying
  • explore the dynamics of bully, bullied and bystander
  • identify innovative initiatives that help prevent/discourage bullying.
To register for the conference, please contact Karen Bennett on kbennett@nspcc.org.uk.
